What we ask

The part you play.

01

Turn up

The conductor publishes a rehearsal schedule with each concert programme. We know everyone here is a volunteer with a life attached, but the orchestra only works if most of us are in the room most weeks, and on stage on the day.

02

Learn your part

Practise at home and play your part to the best of your ability, to the satisfaction of your section leader.

03

Pay the membership fee

It covers insurance, music hire and the rehearsal venue: the three things that would otherwise stop the orchestra.

04

Bring an audience

Tell people about the concerts. A full hall is what keeps membership affordable for everyone.

Current openings

Where we need players.

Every section is full at the moment. Send an expression of interest anyway: seats come free more often than you would think, and we keep a list.

1

Thursday evenings

Rehearsals run 7:30 to 9:30pm. A schedule goes out with each concert programme.

2

By invitation

The Conductor, Concertmaster and your Section Leader decide, and places depend on vacancies in your section.

3

Take your chair

$80 a year, free for players 17 and under, pro-rata for a single concert season.

Principal Partner

Put your name on the season.

A season carries naming presence across the year, a feature in every concert programme, foyer signage at each performance, and seats held for your guests. The full pack is being put together now. Leave your details and the committee will send it to you as soon as it is ready, or answer any question in the meantime.
