About the orchestra

Played here.
By people from here.

Sixty musicians, aged 15 to over 80: professionals and gifted amateurs side by side: doctors, dentists, music teachers and engineers, some of whom have played with the Queensland Symphony, the BBC Orchestra and the Scottish National Orchestra.

A not-for-profit run for and by the community since 1984, the Philharmonic meets every week to rehearse, and to enjoy each other's company. No other orchestra can claim this city, its halls, and its skyline.
